Term 2 - Week One

Welcome to Room 16 at Nayland School! We have had a great start to the year and the children have been having lots of fun.

In phonics we have been learning the new sounds s, a, t and i. It would be great if grown-ups could help the children to practise these sounds.

Here are some of the other things we have been doing:

Malachi and Siuila are playing in our police station. They have taken some fingerprints that they are looking at with the magnifying glasses. We have also been making wanted posters so let us know if you see any of the robbers we are looking for.

Here are Cohen and Monique hard at work in our Writing Area. We have lots of choice things to write with here - even gel pens!

We worked together to play a maths game. We took turns rolling the dice while our partner counted the dots and then wrote the number on their whiteboard. Grown-ups, you could play this game at home with the children.

On Thursday we played a listening game. One child hid behind the bookshelf and played an instrument. The rest of the class had to guess which instrument was being played.

Here is Stirling playing an instrument while the rest of the class are listening carefully. What number instrument is he playing?

Well done everyone, have a great long weekend and I will see you all next week.
