In maths we have been doing more work on number. Here are Malachi and Stirling walking on the number bridge. They could go forwards or backwards and the rest of the class had to say the number they were standing on. It was lots of fun!
Next week is Matariki. We have just began talking about this special time of year and will be talking about Matariki more next week. During Discovery Time some of the children decided we should make our own night sky in the classroom. We used black bags to create a dark space in the corner of the room and stars to decorate with, we're not quite finished yet though. Here are the children hard at work:
Two children from Room 16 received a certificate in syndicate assembly this week. They were Cohen and Siuila. Cohen was awarded his for being a kind and considerate class member. He is always thinking of others and willing to help. Siuila was awarded hers for the effort she has been putting into her writing. Well done both of you.
It has been a great week for Siuila who has also filled in her sticker chart.
